How Whole-House Repiping in Houston Runs

PEX or Copper for a Houston Repipe?
Both are sound choices and the right answer depends on the house. PEX is flexible, which means far fewer joints and long continuous runs pulled through existing cavities with minimal cutting. It tolerates the ground movement common across Houston well, resists the scale that hard water leaves behind, and is quieter under pressure than rigid pipe.
Copper remains rigid, holds up to heat without support considerations, and is the traditional choice where pipework will be visible or exposed to sunlight. It is more labour-intensive to install because every direction change is a soldered joint, and in a house that has already lost copper to pinhole corrosion it is worth understanding why the first system failed before specifying the same material again.
Repiping the Water Service Line
